Aberdeen Police Department has updated its public service statistics, including officer count and annual incident volume.
The department serves a community of about 17,000 residents across 12 square miles with 38 commissioned officers and 17 civilian staff members, according to its website. They report responding to nearly 26,000 incidents annually and booking approximately 1,900 inmates into their jail facility each year.
The department's website also notes it was established in 1888 and provides 24-hour police services with a Records office open 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday.
