Grays Harbor County Emergency Management is responsible for developing and maintaining a Countywide infrastructure for emergency/disaster preparedness, response, mitigation and recovery. The department coordinates with cities, fire districts, and county departments to manage emergency operations.
The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) serves as the hub for information gathering, strategic decision making, and resource allocation during countywide disasters. Representatives from law enforcement, fire services, public health, and other organizations coordinate response efforts at the EOC.
The department actively prepares for and participates in disaster planning, emergency response exercises, public education, and responder training programs including StormReady and TsunamiReady certifications. Emergency Management also provides resources for residents including family preparedness plans and 72-hour kits.
