Starting July 29, several road closures and lane restrictions began on major routes near Aberdeen, WA, according to WSDOT. The most significant changes include a right shoulder closure on northbound I-5 from milepost 9. 3 to 11. 3, intermittent lane closures on northbound I-5 between mileposts 59 and 60, and nightly closures on southbound I-405 between mileposts 18. 11 and 16. 45.
WSDOT reported that these closures are for maintenance and construction projects, with the I-5 shoulder closure effective July 29 at 7:31 a.m. and the northbound I-5 lane closures running from July 29 at 9 p.m. to July 30 at 5 a.m. The southbound I-405 closures will continue nightly until July 31 at 4 a.m. Drivers are urged to plan ahead and expect delays.
Additional work includes a nightly closure of the center lane on southbound SR 527 from July 27 to July 30, and ongoing lane alternation on State Route 96 from July 27 to July 31. The most extended project is on State Route 203, which will have one lane closed nightly from July 27 to July 31.
